I was able to get quite a few things moving forward this past week.
A new Heil Ham headset was installed at each of the thre operator positions in the EOC. This will help a lot when it gets busy in there.
I dropped off the Mini PC (NUC) at the EOC and plan to put it into operation this week.
Arrangements have been made to upgrade the AREDN Mesh antenna at K6CRW’s QTH this coming Friday. He will go from an Omni antenna to a high gain dish!
I am still hoping and looking for an opportunity to follow up on the Shakeout exercise but there are no new developments yet.
I met with Daniel Kane, KA1BIG, this week and programmed his Yaesu FT-65R HT. It was my first experience with that radio and I liked it so much that I bought one! Daniel is new and excited to learn our hobby and be a contributor. Welcome, Daniel!
We continue to prepare for the MRSE (Medical Response & Surge Exercise) to be held the week after next. This event will only involve a handful of us. I will be meeting with our Section Manager and the other Emergency Coordinators from the Los Angeles Section to iron out inter-agency plans. If you would like to participate in this exercise, please message me directly via president@ccares.net
I wish you all a safe and happy week and will chat with you next week. 7-3, everyone! This is AJ7C, back to net.
