This week has been fairly quiet.

I decided against attending last Monday’s City Council meeting and have instead decided to present at the next one on November 13, 2023.I plan to brief the council on our Shakeout exercise, mainly.

We welcomed the Herbert’s back home from their vacay in Tennessee where Steve was a bit disappointed when, on the evening of the Shakeout, he did not hear a bunch of message traffic on the repeater when he logged on to EchoLink to listen. That’s dedication for you!

I finished preparing a new mini PC to replace our Echolink & Winlink Packet Gateway machine that has become the oldest and most obsolescent of our inventory. It should be installed and online this week.

I am waiting to hear of a possible meeting for Shakeout agency leaders to discuss and share lessons learned and best practices.

We continues to prepare for the MRSE (Medical Response & Surge Exercise) to be held next month. This event will only involve a handful of us. If you would like to participate in this, please message me directly vis president@ccares.net
